OJ is Guilty and Palin has been set free.

Last night OJ Simpson was found Guilty (of all 12 counts?). I don't know if the rest of the world has been following it, but in Las Vegas it tends to be a footnote on the news cast. Nothing dramatic, it needs to be reported, but no one really cared.

Maybe it was boring due to the overwhelming evidence against him. It was a locked case. And the Judge.. don't mess with her!! She was no Judge Ito! She kept the courtroom in control and didn't mince words with the verdict:

Not a shocker.

On to Sarah Palin. At first I was surprised to hear she was selected as McCains running mate, that followed on to amusement as she went through her interviews, and now disgust.

Considering the majority of the American public are happy to be led as sheep and let the media form and define their opinions/votes. Therefore when she received rave reviews for the debate, I was (again) shocked and amazed. Since the bar for Palin was so far below sea level heading into the debate, it's easy to conclude she won by sheer virtue of exceeding those dismally low expectations.

Its awhile since I've blogged

Its been over a year since I've blogged.

Does that mean that nothing has happened in a year? lol.. NO.

My job sent me to Malaysia for 2 months and then Australia for 1 1/2 months. Since coming back to the US its been decided I should support others so they can learn the program. That has been a big source of frustration!! I want to be on the road, not in the office supporting others.

So now I'm in the office and I decided to make the most of it.. i.e acquire a life. I've lived in Las Vegas for 4 years and its hard to have a life (at least a real one) in this town. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this town, but its not the normal type of town.

I'm also trying to learn more about databases since I have time to concentrate on it. When I'm on the road, I'm going job to job and don't have time to concentrate on much. I found out that I love it!! Databases and me seemed to have made friends rather quickly and learning about it has been easier then I thought. It also makes me feel 'smart' to fix a complicated issue as opposed to an easy support issue.

I'll try and blog more, this seems to be my little corner of the Internet my family/clients don't know about.

Cheers people!!

Gadget Girl Buys Again

This weekend was my first weekend off in awhile and today I went shopping. I wasn't intending on buying anything, but then I forgot how much fun it was to go to the mall!!!

After this last trip I decided I HAD to get a broadband card. I was sick and tired of being charged at airports, and hotels and still getting a crappie connection. Therefore I ended up in the Sprint store purchasing the broadband card. What does this mean? I'll have internet access on the road or in town anywhere!! That is a very big deal (and I'm using it now). When I first talked to my boss about it he said that they would consider paying the bill... we will see!!

Also at work we started using Skype and when I was last on the road I didn't have a headset etc,, well when I was at Sharper Image they had Skype phones on sale for $19.00.. Total Score!!

I also hit Victorias Secret and indulged my love for hair products.

Yeah!!!! A good day!

Its time to cease blogging on MySpace

Yes, I'm 38 yrs old and have a MySpace page.

I don't think that is bad, many of my friends, co-workers, and clients have pages on MySpace (I even helped design a few). It is not a 'kid' thing.

Which brings me back to my title, almost everyone I know has become a 'friend' on MySpace.  I blogged last week over a personal issue and I marked the blog as 'personal' and I created a list which would allow only certain 'friends' the ability to read it.

Oh My God.. talk about Drama.. this is what I have heard lately:

  • Why can't I read your blog?
  • Are you blogging about me?
  • What are you hiding?

Therefore, thanks to my Mom, I'm retreating to blogger.com.  This will be my little hide away from MySpace where I can indulge in blogging without pissing off the whole world.

This is my life..
